The South Carolina Youth Diabetes Association
The South Carolina Youth Diabetes Association (SCYDA) was created by a group of like-minded individuals who saw the need for additional medically driven camping opportunities for children with diabetes in South Carolina and surrounding states. The idea was born out of their desire to improve the lives of the youth of South Carolina who are living, and dealing with, the challenges of Type 1 diabetes. To achieve this goal they have developed and maintained diabetes camps, college support, enhanced school support for diabetes management, and sponsored fund-raising events.

Mission
The South Carolina Youth Diabetes Association will support children with diabetes in South Carolina and surrounding states of Georgia and North Carolina by developing diabetes camping opportunities and school support programs. To accomplish this, SCYDA will recruit and develop a community of like-minded individuals and professionals to engage, encourage, empower, and inspire children with diabetes.
